Exercise: Class (Fixing bad Infographic)

We need to redesign some random infographic of our choice and the one that i chose is this

So, we can see here that this poster is very messy and all over the place which is very disturbing for the human eye. What i want to change about this is the way the explain it and the colors to make it simple and a bit lively.

Process

For the color i think some blue colors would be fine for this poster. After that I asked Gemini to breakdown the aesthetics of the poster so i can use it for my own (some of the elements from the original poster) and i got to work.

For the reference i did it somewhat like this poster below

I got to After Effects (i have no other software other than this) and put in the cropped elements from the original poster and worked some more magic to it (basically just repeat the same thing)

Final Product

Exercise 1: Quantify & visualize data

For the first exercise, We are required to Quantify (count) our chosen items and arrange the objects into a presentable layout or chart. And then we need to take a picture of it.

For this exercises I decided to use Vanguard Card, since this is the only items that i have laying around. and for this exercises I decided to use a total of 56 Cards. And I will sort the card by their grade.

After, I've arranged the card now it's time to add the details such as the quantity of each grade and the total of cards that i used.

Exercise 2: L.A.T.C.H Infographics

For the second exercises, we are required to make a infographics using the L.A.T.C.H Principles, This means that we need to organize a group of information such as Pokémon, FFXIV monsters, or dinosaurs using at least four of the L.A.T.C.H. principles (Location, Alphabet, Time, Category, and Hierarchy). Or we can use any topic that we want as long as we apply the LATCH Principles.

For this exercises, I decided to use Tekken as my main topic. I first asked Gemini to summarize all the information that I will include on my infographic poster and for the character I decided to use: Kazuya, Eddy, Leo, and Dragunov.

After I've done this, the next step is to find the character on Pinterest, this step is quite easy since Tekken is a popular game and so there is a lot of character images on Pinterest.

However, the downside of finding the character on Pinterest is that the image is not .png, meaning that there's a background on the images, and so before creating my infographic poster I will need to remove the background, so that the character has a transparent background.

After all the steps are done, I can finally begin to create my infographic poster, for the poster itself I wanted it to have a minimalist design and prioritizing readability and most importantly I wanted the poster to deliver all the information that I want to deliver.

So, for the background I decided to use a black background. By using a background and a bright color for the highlight, it creates a strong contrast and it means that it can attract viewers attention. And after some final quality check below are my final L.A.T.C.H Infographics poster.

Final L.A.T.C.H Infographic
